The video game landscape is continuously evolving. With the onset of pirating and other things of that kind, video games will develop, and have already seen thereality of these strong modifiers. Because of this, free entertainment is become more and more popular, but not in the purest form. The following changes will occur and continue to occur in the gaming environment:

Advertising will become more oftenly occurring. As entertainment continue to become more straining to make money off of, businesses will have to turn to ingame advertising. This will make entertainment more spammy and irritating, and video game companies have yet to fully take advatange this in a way their players feel is acceptable and not too obstructing. Companies are also hurting with ways to track and guarantee that their efforts have a strong return on investment.

Quality may go down. As it is with the music industry, profit margins may inevitably go down in the vertical due to piracy. While gaming will never completely fade away, it is possible that gaming conglomerates will not have the cash to invest in a superhigh quality game when they will not see results from their large investment.

Freemium will go up. There will be more growth of paid addons, which is already revealing its mug in the paid world. You will be able to purchase more things like more characters, maps, cheat codes and etc, to increase minor revenue inflow after the products have been bought. Products like massive multiplayer online role playing games may become more popular as companies see the ability to monetize a monthly subscription service more frequently.

Numbers may jump. As these things occur, more large volume, low quality games may show up. Onsite games such as these will offer quick return, onsite branding and advertising knowledge, and also a low cost. Investing in extremely expensive games may seem like a poor choice for gaming companies, and as such they may reinvest to microgames such as kids dress up games, cooking games or online pool and Pong.
